The aim of this symposium is to advance in achieving a holistic understanding of business and a new humanistic synthesis between technical and ethical aspects of business. The symposium brochure states that "The Symposium brings together leading academics and senior business executives to exchange ideas and experiences, reflect on current ethical challenges and give impetus to the deeper integration of ethics with economics and business.” For the 2010 edition of the symposium the theme was: Facing the Crisis: Towards a new Humanistic Synthesis.
During this highly renowned and prestigious conference we were able to host an independent panel on the topic of Developing Humanistic Management in which members of our network and leadership team presented insights to nourish the paradigm shift towards humanistic management. Chaired by Ernst von Kimakowitz, Carlos Largacha, Michael Pirson and Heiko Spitzeck presented some of their research findings before entering into a lively discussion with the audience. In addition Claus Dierksmeier was invited to join the scientific committee of the symposium which he gladly accepted. Claus Dierksmeier as well as Michael Pirson and Heiko Spitzeck also presented research papers at the symposium.
