Due to numerous business scandals in the last years, the corporate 'license to operate' - the freedom of business - has come increasingly under scrutiny. At the same time, calls for more economic responsibility abound: The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), the United Nations, and the OECD are demanding economic policies and business strategies no longer only directed to wealth accumulation but also promoting higher levels of human wellbeing. The conference wants to contribute to this renegotiation of the relationship between economic freedom and responsibility.
Speakers include Honorary Lecturer: Jeffrey D. Sachs; Speakers: Claus Dierksmeier, Christian Felber, Ernst von Kimakowitz, Chris Laszlo, Hunter Lovins, Michael Pirson, Jürgen Volkert, Andrew Winston; and to be confirmed: Enrico Giovannini. In addition the Humanistic Management Network will host a preparatory academic paper development workshop on October 12th for selected papers.
