In his article Scott Thompson cites the three stepped approach to Humanistic Management and describes respect for the inherent dignity of employees, ethical complexities and challenges in identifying stakeholders as central in humanistic management. Humanistic management so the author "is an approach to management theory based on the idea of human needs and human values." He continues that employees "are seen not merely as economic assets valued primarily for their productivity but as people with complex needs and a desire for meaningful and varied daily tasks."
