The region around Lake Constance and the bordering eastern part of Switzerland, western part of Austria and southern part of Germany have a long standing history of delivering entrepreneurial success stories. Simultaneously though these are challenging times for SMEs. They are on one hand hailed for being the backbone of prosperity in the region, but on the other hand face an ever more competitive environment challenging traditional business practices.
This event was a collaborative effort between Lilienberg Unternehmerforum and ETHICS FIRST, the executive education joint venture of the Global Ethic Institute at the University of Tübingen and ourselves, the HMC. The event had two aims: Firstly we wanted assess jointly with entrepreneurs how strong values help to successfully navigate the complexities of managing SMEs in a global marketplace. Secondly we had the opportunity to test the three topical foci we have defined for Ethics First being 1) a general introduction to business ethics as a strategic success factor, 2) leadership for the triple bottom line and 3) stakeholder engagement.
We are glad that we found great interest in the topic and lively discussions continuing well into the evening during the reception that marked the end of this half day event. Please find below a photo gallery as well as links to further information on the event and its partners.
